ROTC National Championship

Over 2,400 JROTC teams started the qualification rounds for the JROTC Championships in December. Qualifying teams moved on to the Regional Championships in February in Utah, Alabama and Ohio. The top 7 teams from each service moved on to the National Championship round this past weekend in Anniston, Alabama.

North was the number eight seed heading in to the tournament and brought their “A” game. After the first day, we were in the number four slot just behind the Army National Champions but ahead of the Navy champs. On day two we shot better and moved into 3rd place, 3 points out of the National runner-up spot. What this team accomplished was truly amazing and they represented themselves and the school with true class. We have never finished this high in this particular tournament before, last month we shot a school record 4339 in Ohio This past weekend we shot a 4383, so that gives you an idea of how well the team did. Lexis Smith, Jessica Ebersole, James Ellefson or Zane Simonton, gave an amazing performance.
