North High School is holding their annual Pops Concert on Tuesday,March 7th at 7:00 pm in the Auditorium. NHS Band and Orchestra students are performing that evening.

An incredible story about North High senior Meshach Zarwie told by WHO-TV Meshach and his family fled civil war in the Ivory Coast and, with support of a refugee agency, were able to flee the fighting in west Africa to eventually settle here in Des Moines. Today, Meshach is one of the state’s top high school wrestlers and has a full academic scholarship to study engineering at Iowa State University. Congratulations to Shad Zarwie for qualifying for the State Wrestling Tournament last week. He battled through a tough district to place 2nd. The class 3A state tournament starts this Thursday, February 16th.
