Spotlight on a Staff Member

Jon Johnson is the new Activities Director at North; he has been hard at work since late June, learning a lot and preparing for the upcoming school year. Jon’s wife, Jess, is a PE teacher at Willard Elementary in DMPS — they have three children.  Jon will never shy away from a conversation about Upper Iowa University #feathersup – as he is a loyal alumni.

He has already made improvements to the look and feel of the athletic area and more are in the works.  He and Activities Secretary, Terri Buban, are working hard to have everything organized for students and families once fall sports officially kick off on Monday, Aug 7.

Jon’s goals for the year center around these three items:

1. Hiring quality coaches and advisers

2. Continuing to increase our ever-increasing participation numbers

3. Create a Student Activity Panel for feedback on all areas of student activities at NHS.
