Ms. Schwendau’s Senior Polar Bear Time class made cash donations to purchase cans for the canned food drive.  The students donated a total of $88.60 and Ms. Schwendau matched their donation.  Over 400 food items were donated to the drive!  Awesome job!

As the student member on the State Board of Education, North High School student: Robert Nishimwe, was invited to attend the National Association of the State Board of Education Conference in Atlanta, Georgia, on November 2nd and 3rd.  While attending, Robert met Sal Khan, the founder of Khan Academy.

Monday may have been Beggars’ Night in Des Moines, but the Halloween action was at North High. The Polar Bear Crew organized a Trunk or Treat event, inviting students from surrounding schools to pick a costume and come pay a visit to their future high school.
