Trunk or Treat Greets Future Polar Bears

Monday may have been Beggars’ Night in Des Moines, but the Halloween action was at North High. The Polar Bear Crew organized a Trunk or Treat event, inviting students from surrounding schools to pick a costume and come pay a visit to their future high school. Violence, Violence, Go Away. Come Again … Never

A downpour strong enough to postpone the Hoover-North football game wasn’t enough to stop an event organized to speak out against crime and violence, and in support of safe neighborhoods and communities. Shoes That Fit Delivers for North 9th Graders

Shoes That Fit, a frequent partner of the district meeting the most basic needs of kids came through again, this time by providing new shoes to 9th graders at North High School. Holocaust Survivor, North Alum: Celina Karp Biniaz

Celina Karp Biniaz survived World War II’s Holocaust as one of the Schindler’s List Jews, people who lives were spared to work in factories. A few years later after the war and a journey to America found her at North High School as a member of the Class of 1948.
