Student IDs, DART Access to Change

The way students access DART buses is changing beginning in school year 2018-19. When students receive their school IDs this Fall, the badge will have a QR code embedded on it. The QR code will serve as the student’s “ticket” to ride DART. Students will be required to scan the QR code when boarding DART buses. Are You 17 1/2 Years Old? Become a Voter!

One of the missions of DMPS is to educate students who “understand the rights and obligations of citizenship.” And one of those rights is becoming a voter, a right available to many high school students. To register to vote in Iowa you must (a) be at least 17 1/2 years old, (b) be a U.S. citizen, and (c) be a resident of Iowa. North Drama Presents ‘School of Rock’

The story revolves around Dewey Finn, an out-of-work rock singer and guitarist who pretends to be a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school. After identifying the musical talent in his students, they form a band in an attempt to win a contest.
