DMPS is searching for the next principal of North High School. More than 1,400 students attend North, and they are a diverse population: nearly 80% of enrollment are students of color and almost one out of four students are English Language Learners. North has received praise from the White House for growth on state assessments and student involvement in Advanced Placement. Nearly 20% of students take CTE classes at Central Campus, and North has robust partnerships for students planning to attend college or university. North has a rich activities and athletics programs with over 60% student participation. The girls basketball team won the most games in school history this school year, football had more wins than in decades, and soccer has almost 1 in every 8 boys competing. Participation in band and orchestra is up 50% from seven years ago.
